Geta, as Caesar, 198-209. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.32 g, 1 h), Rome, 207. P SEPTIMIVS GETA CAES Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Geta to right, seen from behind. Rev. VIRTVS AVGVSTOR Virtus seated left on low throne, resting her left arm on shield set on ground, holding Victory in her right hand and parazonium in her left. BMC -. Cohen -, cf. 225 (bust draped only). RIC -, cf. 56 (bust draped only). An extremely rare variety. Lightly toned and with an excellent portrait of outstanding style. The reverse struck very slightly off center, otherwise, good extremely fine.
